DOCTORnow’s Private PGDS
DOCTORnow – the Preferred IMA for Private PGDs
DOCTORnow has been supplying private PGDs (Patient Group Directions) since 2009 and now provide the clinical governance for a range of clients – both pharmaceutical companies and pharmacy groups. As well as being registered as a private general medical practice, we are also known and registered as an IMA (Independent Medical Agency).
DOCTORnow was established in 2003, registered with the Healthcare Commission in 2006 and then transferred registration to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in 2010. DOCTORnow is registered and therefore, licensed to provide services, by the Care Quality Commission (provider ID: 1-101727289).
DOCTORnow is also registered as an Independent Medical Agency (IMA), with the Regulations and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) in Northern Ireland. Our register ID is ID12190 and to see our recent RQIA report, click here.
Clients choose DOCTORnow for its exacting standard and willingness to act as a flexible, partner.
Not only do we provide private PGDs and clinical governance, we can also provide a clinician-staffed telephone support line for pharmacists to call for advice or any queries that they have. The data gather from this service regarding the queries received from pharmacists then feeds back into the programme, to shape and enhance training and communication going forward.
Private PGDs enable pharmacists to increase the range of services they are able to offer to their customers. This means that the general public will increasingly be able to access medication and vaccines quickly and convenience without having to book in with their GP surgery. Moreover, the vast majority of pharmacists appear to welcome the opportunity to expand their range of services and to take greater responsibility for public health.
However, the clinical governance and quality control of this new medication and vaccine channel is of paramount importance which is where DOCTORnow can help. Maintaining the highest medical ethics and providing the best and most appropriate advice for each patient is our number one priority. Added to this, our medical professionalism, commercial awareness and experience has also given us a unique understanding of the private PGD market and its requirements.
So if you’re considering working with an IMA in order to provide private PGDs to pharmacists and want the best, contact our Beaconsfield surgery on 01494 410888.
